One of the key aims of the Scottish Cat Club is to foster interest in the welfare of cats generally and we expect Club members to abide by the Governing Council of the GCCF’s Code of Ethics for Breeders and Owners.
The club has a dedicated welfare fund, thanks to the generous legacy of Florence Ewan, a former Club member. This allows us to maintain affiliation to the Feline Advisory Bureau and to make small donations to a range of cat charities each year. These donations are discussed and decided by Club members at our AGM. Organisations and individuals supported by the Scottish Cat Club include Clyde Valley Cat Rescue ([email protected]), Dee Carrick (for her cat rescue work), and Dr Diane Addie (for FIP research).
In addition, Mrs Dee Carrick acts as our welfare co-ordinator, helping members’ cats when they have fallen on hard times. Dee can be contacted after 7pm on 01546 886392.
We also have a dedicated and knowledgeable Committee, with hundreds of years experience of cat care between us, and we are always happy to help. You can contact us at [email protected]
